Anyone hiring Finance roles for 2021?
Hi all! I am former federal government. I resigned due to lack of opportunities and growth. I am interested in a couple of Apple service roles within Pay, Care and SDS. Also, Amazon PM roles under Music, Live Sports and Brand Protection. However, with to the current economic conditions is it smarter to focus on fed roles versus Tech. I’ve never had a Tech role. I have a BS Mechanical Engineering and MBA. Any advice would be appreciated.
McKinsey & Company Bain & Company How is MBB's Human Capital Consulting practice? I also have an offer as FAANG Product Manager in the same city with similar compensation. I have 7YOE in risk management at an industry specific (tech) boutique investment bank.

^no way associates in industry are making $80K. Probably not a very large bump at the associate level. If you can somehow manage your way into a senior associate position you're probably looking around $85K, but that's for 3-4 years experience. With only 2 busy seasons under your belt (assuming this upcoming one is your second), you're probably looking around $65K - $70K max. And that's NYC. Subtract $10-$15K for smaller markets.
I am in Audit btw
^ we just brought in our latest IT advisory staff 1 hire class at 78-80k. It's insanity, been increasing 3-5k every year.
Yeah, IT is banging right now, I'm in risk advisory.
Well if you can find a job that you're qualified for 10-20k. Good luck though
Wait for senior at least.
Switch to consulting, I'm 59k staff 1.
^what market?
Ohio
Typical audit or tax staff 1's are at 50k
For the market it's not a bad package. I'd say look to NYC for greater opportunity if that's of interest. Be prepared for the small living spaces though.
^agree with rsm look for NYC for most $$ and consider living in NJ or Staten Island where you can find rent in the low 1000s instead of 2-3k
^might as well just stay in your home market and live somewhere nice. For low 1000s you're basically living in the ghetto (assuming you're talking 1 bedroom or studio).
80k
