Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Yes. Always wear a suit to an interview. Be more professional than necessary - its shows respect. If you act casual in an interview, we assume you'll act even more casual during your daily job. I don't know where you interviewed, but I work in audit. The pinnacle of my work is going to audit committee meetings and summarizing 2000 hours of work (that they paid us $300,000 to do) into a 30-minute meeting and making them feel like it was valuable. When I interview candidates, I want to see that you care about how you present yourself as much as I care how I present myself at a board meeting. Are we way more casual day-to-day? Absolutely. But you need to show the best you're capable of at an interview. We need to know we can trust your care and professionalism with our clients.
What does that even mean? That is such an odd thing to say to someone. I don't think that is too casual at all. Honestly, probably dodged a bullet.
You’re assuming it was the sunglasses, but it could have been the way you presented yourself. Showing up with sunglasses hanging on your shirt is a choice, and I would guess that you came off as unserious, probably not just because of the sunglasses. Your goal is to impress and not necessarily to dress like the people who already have jobs there. You don’t, so don’t act like you do.
Not only do I wear a suit to an interview, whether in person or on zoom, I wear a suit on my first day in the office. My superior told me that they only wear a suit and tie when they're meeting with a client, so I follow their lead.
That's useful feedback and should be taken seriously. You should wear a jacket and tie when you go on interviews. It's a sign of respect, it shows you are taking the process seriously, and you are taking the company seriously. Showing up with sunglasses is not that.
