I don’t know if this exactly fits here but I need to get it off my chest because it’s making me anxious. My sister is having a really hard time getting out of an abusive relationship. She’s legally divorced but seems very attached by texting him. He also won’t let up and keeps pestering her. I am so worried because I saw what the relationship did to her, mentally and physically. And even witnessed the physical abuse too. I’ve tried to support my sister as much as I can but idk what to do now

Your sister needs to stop texting. Period! Or, she needs to go to therapy to figure out why she keeps texting him.

This isn’t an uncommon pattern for survivors of domestic abuse, but until the person stops those behaviors that keep them tied to their abuser, It won’t get better.

If she’s not into therapy, maybe she would benefit from a domestic violence program? Every community has one. Good luck!

For anyone who receives a quarterly bonus or raise in some form, does your employer start to schedule you for less hours when your raise kicks in, or pull you from a future schedule entirely once you receive a bonus; only to put you back on once the hours you would have worked and earned the amount given are passed? Ie; a part time employee getting $200.00 in a quarterly bonus and then not being scheduled a whole week during a bi-weekly pay period where they would have earned more on the clock…?

Are exclusive social clubs in DC worth the money? I just realized how expensive it is after going through the whole application process ($4k initiation fee and $3.5k annual membership fee). Initially I was interested because I wanted to meet new people and make friends but not sure if it’s worth that much money. Does Equinox or any other clubs offer any similar social events?

About to get promoted at PwC from Associate to Senior Associate (mgmt consulting). I interviewed at Deloitte for a Consultant position, but they’re potentially giving me an offer for BA. I’d essentially be holding out on the promo until next promo cycle. Usually, I’d understand hiring at a level below for higher levels but I feel like doing a 3rd year as a junior might not be the best decision. Should I push HR for Consultant level? I haven’t gotten the official offer letter yet, just verbal.

Is anyone's agency currently looking for a Senior or ACD position?

I’m relocating to the US from an international rotation to work in Galveston. I have never been to Texas and I am trying to find the best spot for my family to live in. So far from reading online it sounds like Pearland is a good option but I have not been able to validate that/ figure out what other options are out there. I would appreciate all advice:
1. Would you recommend living in Pearland?
2. What are other good areas to live in? Safe and would like to be less than 1 hour from Galveston.

I'm new to marketing and I am not formally educated in it. I have just been learning through experience with the business. I'm supposed to put together a Market report for our sales team to refer to but I have been stuck on what I even include. I have an expensive subscription to a reporting database and I am supposed to translate these technical reports into 20-30 slides. I can't figure out if I am overthinking something simple or lacking some knowledge that people formally learn in school.

I genuinely feel like I’m at rock bottom, Idk if I’m crazy to feel that way bc of a dog but I used to be able to control this and put up a front but now my depression and anxiety are starting to leak into my work conversations completely unintentionally, I wish this would stop :(

I just learned I was parentified severely, especially emotionally. The discovery came from outside of therapy, but having a place every week to sit down, slow down & reflect def led to it. Being enmeshed with my parents like this was a cause for my anxiety, low self esteem and workaholic, people pleasing tendencies. I'm working on extricating myself and finding my identity again in a way that will be easy on my conscience and values..so I'm learning! Please dont hesitate to go to therapy!...
