He just recommended joining an MLM wtf

He acted just like a Rich dad by not paying his early investors in his brand. Lost the lawsuit and had to declare chapter 7.

Rich Dad Poor Dad was a great book in its era. Unfortunately, many of its principles are no longer valid. For example, viewing your home as a liability. When the book was written, this was probably sound logic. Today we have Airbnb and other tools that enable a sharing economy. How is my house not an asset? My mortgage is 4k per month. I rent it two weeks of the month and bring in 5k. I live for free and make 1k. (I don’t actually do this, just giving an example).

I remember reading that book when I was a teenager. What it taught me is that the key to success is having a rich dad. All his strategies are useless if you don't have money (or other resources) to start with.

Hello everyone!
I recently found out that I was being paid less than everyone in the team (more than 25% gap to more expe teammates, around 15% less than new hires)
We all had the same responsibilities, I consider I even had a heavier workload (talking in past tense since I very recently made an internal move).
Things to consider:
On a work visa
Non-white
Non-male
What would you recommend doing?
Keeping it to myself?
Speaking up? How? With who?

Additional Posts in FIRE Financial Independence Retire Early

Question about what to do next. I’ve maxed out everything—401k, HSA, IRA, backdoor Roth 401k. My bills are all paid. I’ll probably make about 16,500 more this year to do stuff with (ie money that isn’t going to taxes or insurance or anything). What should I do with it? Crypto? Set it on fire? Get a hair transplant?

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent
- about $500 on utilities and subscriptions
- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.

27 F. Work as 1st year associate in Big Law NYC. Base salary $215k, bonus is ~$10k (lowballing), student loans are $150k, total savings are about $100k. 0 family money and will likely be supporting parents long term. Any advice on how/when to start investing in real estate. Currently have all savings in market (with personal investing in index funds or 401K/RothIRA/mega back door).
