Do a different job? We need to be productive. We all need to help build our societies. Everything we have from goods and services only exist because people work so everyone apart from the severely injured or disabled need to work a lot. That is just the planet we live on.
But you should be able to choose what you do as long as someone is willing to pay for it. So do something which is less draining. But you can’t do nothing unless you are independently wealthy.

I would but the job market is so bad.
I was stuck. Eat , work , and sleep.
I could not believe that this was what life was all about.
It bothered me so much that I forced myself to do something about it, rather than continuing on the course that I was on.
I changed my diet to include far more water in my diet. It is truly amazing what a huge increase in energy from spinach and beets
I quit potatoes , dough and dairy ( just milk). I managed to lose thirty pounds.
I went back to what made me happy as a kid. The swimming pool for me is awesome. I get hot in the hot tub ( then the swimming pool water is not so cold) I run laps in chest high water. Excersiseing in water is easier because you are buoyant.
These few changes have made me much more energetic and a better acceptance to what is next.
If a person wants something bad enough than you can do anything.

I just joined a crochet ministry at church. I hope it helps
We have been doing this for generations- centuries probably. Farm workers, factory workers, name it - we needed to unless we’re aristocracy.
I don’t think it’s a mental health issue unless we’re working dawn to dusk unceasingly. The stress levels we have in the workplace today - now that could be a mental health crisis driver

I agree.
It can get to be a horrible grind, and the 40 hour weeks can be deadening. We do, if we're honest about it, have that better than at any time in human history. It's only thanks to the labor movement in the late 19th century that we have two days off every week. However, the stress during the 40 hours that we're working can be horrendous, and modern corporate life may be more insidious than anything the robbers barons imagined.

Good points! Thank you.

I agree with you! I personally just make sure my time away from work is productive, fun, and relaxing
