McKinsey & Company Any advice to help prepare for data science analyst role at top consulting firms (McKinsey & Company EY Boston Consulting Group etc)? Any materials, open source platform recommended to take on freelance data science project? When should I start actively looking and applying? I am a new grad who is working in tech as a marketing analyst I’m looking to pivot to marketing& sales data science consulting next year. Would like someone with similar backgrounds offer some practical tips.
McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Here’s a snip:
Thank you!! Sounds like they did it to themselves. What a stupid business strategy to sue would-be clients. Makes no sense.
Because you get the clients you can get. They just that side.
Quinn Emmanuel also sues banks and economically looks very different than Jenner. It’s less about who you’re suing and more about the bottom line. And Jenner has always been a more humane firm to work at.
Rising Star
But is Quinn even a player in then transactional world at all? And, more importantly, do they want to be? If Jenner wants that kind of work, it’s hard to be adverse on the plaintiff’s side. Think of Cahill: great corporate department, and their litigation department primarily defends their large corporate clients.
Yes. It’s not the most well-run firm these days. There aren’t that many rainmakers there and they don’t have the cash to bring any more in. They also love to tout pro bono, but they actually aren’t as generous on pro bono hours when it comes to bonuses as other firms.
Curious as well
True-Jenner is not Quinn Emmanuel. And it has never been one of the more silky stockings, like Kirkland, etc. But is Jenner really more “humane” than the others? They frequently promote their pro bono practice which is very overrated from what I have heard over the years, save for a few high profile cases. They just come across as sanctimonious. What client wants that? Top tier clients want firms that are the biggest and most profitable because those firms are in reality the best.
Where do you get the notion that top tier clients want firms that are the biggest and most profitable from? That would mean that clients just care about the gross revenue rank, or profits per partner rank, which is not how most clients select the firms… Take Apple, who recently used Desmarais LLP for one of their IP litigation matters. I know they use a bunch of other smaller firms.
