Put in my notice 2 weeks ago. Last days is this Friday. Partner I work for has been a total dick. Multiple other partners have reached out to say they’re sorry to see me go. Partner I work for has since been a bigger dick. Seriously tempted to tell him off and/or actually be honest in my exit interview with HR. I know that means “burning a bridge”, which is bad. Someone please talk me out of it. Genuinely.

As a partner, we would want to know this information about our other partners. Please do make a note of it in your exit interview.

Do it

Do it. Don’t be petty and stay professional, but think of it as your way of looking out for those still at the firm. This will keep happening to others if no one speaks up.

I just left my firm and there was one partner I commented on for a similar reason in my exit interview. I explained that I really enjoyed working with everyone at the firm and was really disappointed to have that experience since it was so inconsistent with the overall culture. That seemed to come across well.
