PSA 4 anyone looking at media agencies-stay far away from PHD (and Omnicom Media Group in general). As far as I can tell they are 1 of the only companies going from “we encourage you to come in 1x a week” to suddenly “its now mandated that everyone come in 3x week” - Senior leadership has done nothing to address many employees concerns of public safety, Covid, & mental health. Or work until you burnout and quit or get fired for underperformance.
Take PTO. Who gives a hoot?! If you’re stressed, recharge and come back fresh. No point in burning yourself out. Maybe when I was younger I worried about it but in hindsight, it’s a false negative IMHO
Get fired, receive severance.. not too bad
Long stint of PTO isn't the same as taking PTO. Good or bad, we choose a career where you really can't take few weeks off at a time as you would in a corporate role. Everyone is busy and one or two people gone for long periods adds tremendously to the work load. But if you're good at what you do and have shown commitment, I'm sure taking a few days off will not only be okay, but might be welcomed by colleagues, showing you know how to destress, rinse and repeat. Underlying assumption is that you don't work with dicks
