I feel like I might be living in the grass is always greener on the other side fantasy. I've been working at one agency or another for the past 8 years and I feel like agency life is eating my soul from the inside out. Is life better on the outside? Should I run away from agency jobs and find something for a smaller company? Or are all jobs in this field the same?

Brands make money by selling products.
Agency owners make money by extracting talent, time and spirit from employees. At a brand, we help sell a product. At an agency, we are the product. The distinction isn’t subtle.

Made the switch to clientside last year after a number of roles in different agencies and consultancies. Best decision I could’ve taken. Great management, genuine respect for WLB, but still being surrounded by extremely smart and capable people and continuously learning. More recognition. Better money. Steadier pace. Better benefits

Congrats! May I ask which company you joined (or type of company/industry if you don’t want to share the exact place)? Curious to know which places have hiring managers looking for agency talent. Thanks!

I escaped agency last year and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Find myself taking moments sometimes to pause and be so grateful that I’m no longer agency side. If you can make the move, it’s worth trying. You can always go back to agency

Same experience here

As someone who goes back and forth between agency and private workplaces, I have to say that I usually prefer working for a company or just a handful of clients vs. working for an agency. Because I agree, agencies are soul-crushing.

1. When did you leave Big Law?
2. Where did you go? (Big Tech, Biotech, Startup,or company name if you feel comfortable)
3. What was your base salary?
4. Did you get equity at the new company and how much?
5. Advice for juniors?
Thank you so much!

I'm at wits end guys. After spending the past 2 years producing and learning new skills in the gaming industry. I'm completely unable to find work.
I have 8+ years of experience as a full stack web developer with a strong set of design skills having begun my career in User Experience Design. Now with the last two years I've added game production in Unity, C#, 3D modeling and animation, level design, narrative design, and asset management to my skillset. I'm unable to support myself.

My friend is a 4th year public defender in NYC. T14 grad and easily one of the smartest, most capable attorneys and professionals I know. He finally hit the limit and is looking to pivot out of PD work when she moves to Oregon next year. Does anyone have any experience seeing this PD - private practice transition happen? Hes open to basically anything in the litigation space so long as it pays better. Any advice?

Currently Talenttree doesn’t have opportunity based on my profile

Help me to choose among following options:

1. How long do I need to wait for the matching profile meanwhile continue doing 201 certifications?

2. Should I resign or no need to because bench period early release might be negotiable?

I am looking to leave my current position due to not having the opportunity to run campaigns and earn experience.
However, every interview I get asked about the campaigns that I have run.
This is starting to feel like a closed loop. Any ideas are appreciated.

Any tips on how to deal with this…my entire team was let go today (was 5, now just me). We functioned as the Marketing team for 4 brands and primarily focused on product launches and sustaining social media content. My plan moving forward is to only focus on the top revenue driving product launches for now and say “no” to basically everything else. Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation and can offer some advice.
