I finally did it - I can officially say I'm a Partner! Any insight from those of you who have been here for awhile on what I can do in the first month or so of having this title?

Welcome to partnership! Hopefully this means EP. Take some time to get your feet wet and settle in to what partnership means in your firm. For me, I had a definite learning period where I adjusted to not having to ask permission anymore and start getting use to being a peer with my more senior partners. The workload also changed as I moved into even more supervising and behind-the-scenes admin, not to mention the strange adjustment as clients start acting a little differently toward you and the partner title. I’m short, enjoy it. Plenty of time for the rest of your career.

Hello!
I'm italian, 26 yo and currently working in France as financial analyst.
Work environment is great, friendly and multicultural but I don't like the job at all.
Personal life is not so nice since I manage to see my family and gf every 30/45 days only. Colleagues have their own lives and at the end we don't hang out much.
My dilemma is:
A) going back to Italy at a lower salary with less growth opps but better personal life or
B) Switching my job here and hold on

What would you do?

Thx! :)

How do firms see candidates seeking to lateral across practice groups? I’m a senior lit associate doing v well at my current firm but seeking a global relocation which might entail switching to a transactional practice. Thinking capital markets since I have a lot of experience in advising our clients of litigation risk when issuing debt etc. Would I even be considered (obvi I expect some cut in seniority)? Is this common?

Tomorrow, I know I will be asked to continue pushing forward with pre planned campaigns that upsell products and services that to groups already in dire straits. After the events of this weekend, I ethically disagree with acting “business as usual”. I’ll raise this with my team, but I anticipate a crossroads with leadership (I am fairly new, younger, junior, woman POC to the org.) If this results and BAU does not change, is it more right to leave my job? Or stay where change is needed?

I am looking at my options and can't see anything beyond the Big5 banks.... Contd in comments

Hello everyone ,
I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?

Need advice on a specific question!
Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?
