I found out today I make about 5% more than my team lead who’s a level above me. We also live in the same city and they’ve been at the company for a couple years more than me.

They’ve been a great mentor to me but I feel like if I disclose the pay disparity, it will create friction in our working relationship. At the same time, I really feel they’re being screwed and should know.

I am on the brink of quitting my consulting gig. I had a good record up until this project, where I really struggle and have a very disengaged team and highly political and bureaucratic client. My firm might be too small to just roll me off.. I have a few interviews lined up, but I don’t have a job offer yet.

I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. The next thing I know, I get a ping from his EA to set up time for me to chat with him and my director tomorrow. I am getting in trouble tomorrow, right?
