I got an offer at L.E.K. Consulting but after all I’ve heard, not sure if it’s still worth accepting. Something about having to be dismissed before logging off!? Also heard you need to ping the team if you’re ever away from your computer, even if it’s 11pm. If these rumors are half true, there’s no chance I’m working there
I also live in Greenwich and the Uber back from the NYC office will cost $200 nightly (Uber Black). It’s perfectly fine to expense at my firm but heard about a cap at LEK?

Everything said is true. If you want to grind 24/7 M-F and get good experience do it. If you have the slightest inkling of not wanting to do that DO NOT DO IT. LEK were some of my darkest days.
24/7 is extreme and maybe practice dependent. I’ve been here several years and focus in industrials in bos/ny and would say it’s not that hard of work, if you enjoy talking to people in industry and learning about their markets, and modeling
I work probably 9:30-b/w 9 and 11p M-W. Break for an hour or so to commute and eat dinner in the evening. I know some people put hour long non-case-commitments every day too for gym and stuff but I go before work.
We usually get out by 6 on Thursdays and 5 on Fridays
For consulting you should know what you’re getting into and I don’t think this is bad all things considered. I have friends traveling every week again other places and it’s brutal

If the client is willing to pay that amount to have the resource on site, the issue here isn't the cost.

What’s your alternative? Saying LEK isn’t great is like saying Ivy League is in turmoil these days. If you get an offer, you still go to Ivy League.
If you have an MBB offer, decline it. If your alternative is Accenture, ZS, EY, KPMG etc, then accept it
As a Jew, I’d go to community college before I’d set foot in Harvard. The fear of whether or not I will make it out alive, and the constant verbal abuse isn’t worth it.
OP, never accept an offer you’re not intending to follow through. The business world is often a small place and this kind of behavior doesn’t jive well with anyone.
If this place will be great for you career, provides a good bump (despite the commute), and you think you can endure staying there for over a year, then go for it. If not, don’t.
I think it’s worth it for at least a year or two for professional development reasons. But sounds like you’re not a good fit based on the Uber situation … good luck out there!

What the H? $200 for an Uber black. OP has to be trolling. "[They're] worth it"? OP have you asked your leadership whether it's okay to expense a $200 ride? Meals, okay. Most firms support that as a reasonable expense (assuming you're not ordering in Michelin star rated cuisine). Reasonable ride share cost when having to work later than normal, maybe.
