I think you could tell HR just so they can laugh you out od the office. In this industry, money knows no gender. We have our top producers rotate from male to female every year.
I’m afraid to ask your age. Here’s the thing, my generation 53 year old raised entitled kids that have now become entitled adults. This is not little league soccer where every player received a trophy. It’s not fair. You should be so busy networking and bringing in clients that you don't have time to look out that window. Use the conference room for now. Be hungry. That guy will never appreciate that office because he did not earn it. You will. Work hard, make your numbers THEN walk in and get your window office. Focus on what’s important and not the pettiness. You got this! 😎👩🏻🔧
Ahh, so the truth comes out. If somewhere say all things equal except gender, I would have assumed a fresh college grad with zero experience. If you brought a book over, it’s safe to assume he brought a book over.. did he come from a better firm? Do you know how big his book his? What his revenue was? What his projected future revenue is? What is retention rate is? There is no way to predict how much either of you will bring over, but if he or you gave management a reason to think you will retain more, that’s your smoking gun. That is, unless you have identical revenue then the one with higher revenue should get the office
He probably has an inside contact at the firm either way complaining is going to cause more problems than anything else I think it's too risky for you to complain
No offense, but generally speaking, it's at the discretion of the manager who gets offices. If you have assets and production that warrants an office, you were in a position to negotiate prior to being hired. I agree with many here, prove yourself first. And good luck.
It's probably he's a Republican and you're a democrat...
He didn’t, we didn’t know our office situation and it’s definitely not random since they chose to put me (a female) in the cubicle when we have the same background and same title
Maybe they feel he has a much better chance of working out. They may not think you will make it there. Good luck
I agree. Which company are you with?
If you go to HR you will be the one who is blacklisted. Don’t even try EEOC , controlled by the company. Life isn’t fair. If this bothers you now find a company that treats individuals without bias while you are early in at your current company. Unless you were paid to come over and signed a contract then your stuck.
Yes.
Yes! Absolutely you should! Stand up for yourself from the get-go!
