I had an interview lined up recently - was recommended by a senior person at the company. But the HR person emailed me an hour before the interview saying the position was now filled.

But 2 hours later, I saw the same position was reposted on LinkedIn. And the job is still showing on the company career section.

Is it just that it takes time for the job posts to disappear from those forums, or did they reject me for some reason?

Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

Feeling like I’ve been “bait-and-switched”…

I’ve been interviewing at an agency with the intention of filling a Director role. Recruitment reached out soon after my last meet-and-greet interview (about 6 to 7 people total) to tell me the team thinks I would be best suited for an Associate Director role with a fast follow of a Director promotion.

Recruitment can’t tell me what feedback is creating this gap but also won’t stop mentioning the positive praise and feedback the team had for me.
