I had an interview loop where three people asked me literally the same question: “Tell me about a time you failed.” I tried to switch up my answer each time, but it started to feel weird? By round three I was mentally checked out. Is anyone actually learning anything from these copy-paste behavioral questions? If you could redesign the process, what would you do differently?

I’d rather do one thoughtful case and a values alignment convo than 5 rounds of scripted fluff.

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
