I’m exhausted, juggling feeding schedules and board decks, and wondering if this is just how it is for women at my level. Was I naïve to expect support? Or is this the unspoken tax we pay as female execs who choose to have kids?

I will go for maternity leave from mid October. Will I get hike on November? I joined on last year November. Also I got very less variable pay in the month of May. It was 8.5% of my 6months salary. Will it be same percentage on 6months salary or 1yr salary this time?

My father wants to buy dogecoin (yes, now) and I’m annoyed because I can think of hundreds of other ways he can spend that money. But, he’s determined and convinced it’ll make him rich in 2 years.

Question to immigrants with parents overseas. Anyone has experience getting their parents approved for tourist visa while immigration petition for parent is pending (I am US citizen, moms case is slowly moving and I desperately need her come visit). She’s had 15+ years on tourist visas but worry we’ll be denied this time due to “immigration case in progress”. Appreciate any tips and anecdotes.

I find myself questioning basic politeness I’ve learned since a child. Wondering what everyone else thinks. I work with an associate. She’s great. When she does good work or something I’ve asked her to do, I, of course, say “thank you!” I don’t really expect a response. She always replies “you’re welcome!” Or some variation. And for some reason, that’s awkward. Is it just me? I know in normal manners, that is the right response. Why does it sit funny?

I, a childless woman who does not plan to have kids, am jealous of the parental leave parents get to take from work from choosing to have a child (a big life event). I 100% understand that they are working in a different way by taking care of the baby and being deliriously worn out in the process, but it makes me sort of jealous that unless I have a kid there is no life event that I can take ~3 months away from work to focus on and enjoy, plus have my hours prorated and a job to come back to.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
