I had to take bereavement for the first time in my career this week for three days for my grandmother‘s funeral, but our company offers up to two weeks for this. Someone else on my team split it up in December so since we’re busy and it was last minute I asked if I could take the rest of the time in June, he said he could give me one day…is it too much to ask for the full amount available? It’s my last family member, my parents have already passed.

I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Really struggling to pick up all of the slack from all of the colleagues that do have kids and feel like the expectation is that parents should turn off while the rest are working from 7am - 2am everyday to make up for it.

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research.
