No one really cares about your internships if you have 5 YOE
Internships do matter if you can count the busy seasons and show real experience.. No one ever debates whether you made the wrong judgement call on the length of your resume. If you can demonstrate your skills on one, do it. If not, use 2.
agreed
Outside of academia I don’t think anyone needs more than 1 pg to put what’s actually important
I’d find it hard to think two pages is truly necessary.
Were the internships all in the same field? Same company? and are they all relevant? With 5 YOE you should have a promotion or two under your belt - it’s appropriate to list all of the positions together, then a few bullets about current relevant experience. That should drastically slim it down. Like:
KPMG Manager 2020-preset
Senior Associate 2018-2020
- I run the firm blah blah
One page is sufficient. The internship experience pales in comparison to 5 years in PA and they should not take up much space

Why are you putting internship experience on your resume with 5 years of experience. 1 page is more than enough
read my response below
One page only. Internships should only show dates, no activities from your internship are still relevant.
Second this
Don’t even include the internships. Someone five years into their career shouldn’t have two pages absent academia.
I was around 10 YOE and still easily fit everything into one page. No one wants to read multiple pages.
I have 8 and have 2 page resume. Only because my experience is quite broad, multinational, etc and I have a bachelor, master and certification.
Haven't included any internships.
I have two pages of bullet points but I only submit a one page resume. If I have experience but it's not relevant to the job I'm applying to I leave it out.
Keep it to one or you'll dilute your important experience with irrelevant background.
7 YOE, internship with same MM PA firm (2 spring, 1 fall busy season) where I gained significant exp. I was promoted to senior as soon as i started full time. i have 2 page resume including those internships and was recently offered 3 of 3 jobs i applied for (2 of the big 4 and one private). I think it really depends on your experience and who is looking at the resume. I’m assuming big 4 internships are not worth mentioning based on all these responses. would like to hear out what folks do during internship at big 4.
also to note my 7 YOE includes my 3 internships (2 years). I’m currently a M3 and up for SM promotion next year.

If you have two decades of experience, you may have a two page resume and I won’t judge you for it
Pro
No
Internships don’t count for your YOE unless it’s some MBA internship
A1 - it counts if you want it to count and how you present it. see my response below.
One page only, please.
i have 6 yoe and dont even have 1 page for my resume. had 7 offers out of 8 interviews in the past 3 months. for me, less is better. each job i've had is a one liner on the resume. never had any complaimts on the resume lol. im lazy. if i was a recruiter i wont skim anything beyond page 1 lol.
Rising Star
That one page of bullet points should be full of accomplishments and not just a list of all your duties! A quick way to get your resume tosses is two pages of job descriptions.
You should have one page showing your best.
1 page.
1 page
Pro
So, who won the debate
Oh definitely me.
one page resumes only. i have a decade of experience and still one page. only the most relevant details need to go on the resume. the interview is for selling your accomplishments at each position and effectively mapping the details of your career progress.
