Books are always a great gift. My 1 yr old loves reading with us, and it’s much better than a toy she will likely grow out of playing with.
Depending on your price range:
Board books
Kids musical instruments, like Hape xylophone
Walking toy, push toy, or pull toy, like Melissa and Doug alligator walker
Kids ball pit, tent, or tunnel
Activity cube
Small rocking horse
Nugget couch
Get a gift with gift receipt from a major retailer like target, so the parent has the option to exchange or return easily
This is very subjective, but cash is king in my community. Otherwise, depending on your budget my favorite gift for the first birthday is the Pottery Barn Kids Couch that’s customized with their name.
My daughter is 18 months and currently loves:
Lift the flap books - OBSESSED
Montessori style music instrument set - has also loved for the last 8 months since she got for her bday
Books are great! Also the Fisher Price farm was a good one and ride on toys, perfect for this age!
I like to give the Marion billet listen to the music books! They’re cute and play music and my 1 and 2 year old love them
How about a name puzzle? Or a little kid step stool with their name on it?
