I have a good in-house job with competitive pay, a supportive team, and interesting work. I’m not unhappy, but I still find myself curious about other opportunities when recruiters reach out.

Does anyone else feel this way? At what point does curiosity become a reason to make a move, even when there’s nothing wrong with your current role?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me.
