I have an offer from Baker Tilly Consulting and a big 4 firm? Is there anyone at Baker Tilly healthcare payer provider practice to help out give a perspective on how things are there?

I know someone who left Deloitte and was at BT for less than 3 months due to W/L balance being terrible. He boomeranged back to Deloitte after a few months. This was not their healthcare practice, however

I worked as a consultant in their healthcare payer practice if you want to DM for details.

like

Was at BT previously (different practice). Their Healthcare Payer group has basically one client that is 90%+ of group’s overall revenues and the service to client is more-or-less Staff augmentation and not necessarily strategy consulting. So just something to consider as you evaluate the offer.

like

I was on that client and only did pure strategy work 😂 But generally you are correct that it is primarily staff aug. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if they are more diversified now.

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?

I’d be curious for peoples thoughts on permanent life insurance. We’re early 30s, 2 kids. We can very likely comfortably afford the big up front investment for the next 15 years or so. It feels like putting the money to work in equities is a better play but don’t want to write this off if it’s worth it. Right now I’d say our net worth is around 1.5 with 55% equities. 30% home equity, 10% preferreds, 5% cash.
