I have an offer from McKinsey, Data Science Specialist/Associate. I am also interviewing for PWC, Manager FS Data & Analytics. Have had two rounds of interviews. I think the pay might be pretty similar? The PWC HR has been unresponsive and has not been willing to share the salary range.

I am new to the world of consulting. Should I do all the interview rounds of PWC since it is one level higher - Manager? Better career progression because I go in at a higher level.

Six months ago I had brought up the fact I was being underpaid for the job I was doing with now 3 years of experience being the only Engineer on the team and my manager agreed giving me an increase to $90k. Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. Now what I didn’t expect is rather than technicalities they focused on the consulting a lot more. Now the role that was marketed was technical/Architect and they even said that in current capacity you’ll work here as a technical person. I don’t think it went well. Coming from a technical background I was hoping for coding .
