I have been a senior instructional designer for a long time. How do I move from ID to the next level? How do I prepare for that job from instructional design? I feel stuck. Any advice would be great. Is training manager the only normal next step? What else have people done?

What’s it like to transition from a media agency to account management in digital ad sales?

I recently lateraled into Big Law. Most of my colleagues are homegrown. My shift did involve a big change in practice area, and there's work that I haven't done before that I now have to do.

But, sometimes I feel stupid here, even for work which I have done previously. It's like I'm unable to understand instructions the first time around. And I have seen my colleagues getting annoyed by that. It's like I've become dumb. In my defence, I could say they're giving half assed instructions.

Did you guys choose to join law enforcement or did you just kind of end up here?

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?

How do you get into instructional design?

I have an open position for an Instructional Designer/LMS Admin and am trying to create an activity to complete, as an assessment of skills, abilities and time management. Has anyone had success with something like this and can recommend an assignment that would not be too invasive and time consuming, but still produce and accurate depiction of sill level?
