What is the determining factor for promotion from a senior associate to manager?

I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...

Does anyone teach in class elementary, middle, or high school and also teaches college level? If so, how did you get the college level job? I have a masters and specialist degree and teach in class. I’m having the hardest time finding a new job. I have 12 years of HR experience, a masters in HR, SHRM certification, and all I keep getting are rejection emails. Networking 🐠, I’m in the process of developing a mobile app and I’m planning to hire an offshore engineer to further expedite timelines. All devs that I talk to don’t have a Mac to develop/test the app locally. Also, I’m a little skeptical about the IP (codebase, app secrets, etc.) falling into wrong hands. What are my options here?
