I get you 100. I’ve had to take 3 leaves in 26 years. You are not alone. At times the stress and anxiety can be overwhelming. I know of a case where a teacher only worked 3 days a week per doctors orders.
I experience anxiety and slight depression and have also been diagnosed, yet I fail to see anything my district might do other than hold it against me. Sad face here.
I know of no accommodations. I suffer as well. These past two weeks my class behavior has escalated to unbearable levels. Despite medication, I had to ask for someone to cover my class for a few minutes, and had to take a mental health day immediately following. If I am consistently fighting myself to keep from screaming at the kids, I know I am I'm trouble. I have taken two stress leaves in 18 years of teaching. I pride myself that it has only been two. Generally, I do not struggle with classroom management.
