I have 1.5 YOE in MC and was recently contacted about an opportunity for a data analyst role in private equity. I’m pretty clueless about the space, but comp is an 85% pay raise and the work generally sounds interesting. Has anyone exited to a similar role? What’s career growth like? Moved to the city about 6 months ago and I’ve been disappointed in my experience. I know the pandemic is playing a factor but I didn’t expect the winter days as gloomy as they’ve been. How's the start to your year going? I am having terrible burnout, but then beat myself up for abandoning my students when I think about it. Anyone else experience this?

How are you taking care of yourself if you have depression? All of my ways of staying grounded and motivated were attached to my routine and the fulfillment from work. I feel like I’m losing all motivation and struggling more the longer remote learning goes on.

As of late, my work related anxiety has reached new levels and it’s really starting to affect me mentally. I’m part of a great team; I’m trusted and supported, have a great track record, there are no issues, and have been no incidents. Regardless, my professional self perception and confidence is so rattled as of late, it’s almost like a paralysis at times. I realize there are much larger problems right now, but if anyone has any tips or advice to get over this, I am all ears. Thanks all!

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I am vaccinated, frustrated, and have been off of antidepressants since March. I don’t even want to go into work tomorrow. Anything is better than being virtual and I am trying to look at the bright side, but moving backward still burns. We have parent-teacher conferences coming up and I am hoping that it’s temporary.

Are you being asked to help out for absent teachers or taken on extra duties because of the teacher shortage? Are you getting paid extra? What perks are you receiving for helping out? Lastly, is it volunteer or volunteer-told? How are you all managing?

I recently went on antidepressants for my anxiety and it has helped tremendously. I felt like I was in a constant state of panic and anger before. Meds are available if you need them!
