PwC A recruiter from PWC reached out to me to ask if I’d consider a different office the one I applied to, since it’s full. It would be Boston, Hartford, Chicago, Minneapolis, Little Rock, Denver, San Francisco or San Jose. MSA candidate. Is there a fully remote option? Do you have to be in the office all the time? Is the compensation high at PWC? Is there a possible moving expenses? Any insight or advice would help me make a decision. Thank you!

I think of the east side as Silverlake, echo park, glassell park, eagle rock, mt Washington , highland park, and west Pasadena. I think there are tons of young people in these areas. It’s just more artsy and down to earth than the west side. I love living here.
Would not consider San Gabriel valley to be the east side. It’s a whole different area. Pasadena is fine and I’d consider part of it to be in northeast LA, but it definitely skews older.
I assume many people on this app tend to skew younger (<35). Places like Pasadena, Glendale, etc. seem to attract families and older population groups compared to Santa Monica and other west side places.
Anything in the San Gabriel Valley isn’t considered the East side, it’s considered the Valley. They can be great places to live. But they’re more the “greater LA metro area” as opposed to actually being in LA
“The valley” refers to the San Fernando valley
Yeah. If you’re young, single, and have a bit of cash people tend to be on the west side.
I’m mid-30s, married with toddlers and Pasadena is perfect for me. Convenient, walkable, lots of parks/playgrounds, slightly more affordable, but nice places to go out to and easy access to hikes etc.
So if you like more of a calm, suburb environment & charming city I recommend Pasadena. I've been here 6 years & the place I've lived the longest in LA. It's about 20 minutes north of DTLA. I've also lived in the south bay which is also nice but more pricey & west LA. West LA traffic is terrible. And since I mostly go out in DTLA & where my friends are Pasadena is great & I can take the metro if I want. Now, a lot ppl move to DTLA bc I think the companies they work for are there or near there & they possibly don't have a car as most things are walking distance. But I think it's overpriced, overrated for the environment; it's not the cleanest.
