Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

Retiring early is appealing, especially if you have the money you need. But if you look at the money forgone in your top earning years, it’s hard to justify losing those last five years or so. I think to myself, you can’t hang in there for five more years to make $7.5m and set your kids and grandkids up for life?
Completely agree with this thought. I don’t know if it’s setting them up for life, but one can save an extreme amount of money in the last the last 5 years. It’s worth running the numbers and assume you live to 85 or 100 years old.
50 if I can. Don’t need the money. Firm has changed too radically to be enjoyable.
Agreed. I was hoping to hang on til 55. But I just pulled the trigger at 52. Feels great!
I was going to be retiring early - was thinking 55, and had planned my investments and retirement strategy to do 55. It was a good plan and I hit my financial goals.
Well, I'm a few years past that now and still want to do a little longer, as I am enjoying what I am doing. When I don't want to do it anymore, I'll put in my notice. I expect many that say they will retire early will feel differently when they actually hit that age.
Plan for the early retirement you want. However, don't be surprised if you decide you're not ready when that planned time comes.
With the Boomers currently retiring and potentially younger Gen X'ers retiring earlier (in mid 50s versus Boomers in their mid to late 60s), I can see a situation where there may be a large knowledge drain in the profession...but that is someone else's problem once I retire.
Shooting for retirement at 53. Two more years. Don’t need the money and no longer enjoy the work environment.
Absolutely. Yes.
56 is the goal!
Definitely!
It will make the wait time to promotion for senior managers shorter
It takes all kinds. I would have retired prior to 55 if good opportunities had not come along. I enjoy what I do but don’t really need the money any more. So if it isn’t fun, time to go. But I would say it’s hard to know for sure when you will retire until it comes up to that point. It becomes less about money and more about what one enjoys doing. And to answer your question - no impact to the firm. It will continue and be fine.
No. I have a 3yo. I’m more worried about what my next job will be at 70.
Borderline millennial partner and likely running to mandatory. You can counter act a lot of this with people like me who had their first kid at 35
I'm interested in this too because it's what I'm hearing. Although I'm curious if the now younger partners will change their mind as they get older and ride the gravy train as long as possible like the older partners now.
Thinking about retiring between 60 and 62
Freedom 52 - 55. Depends on how much my spouse and I spend in that time. Currently 36 and can retire with full partner retirement benefits after 20 years as partner. Not Gen X, I’m millennial.
Millennial planning on 55-57
Planning to retire in my late 50's. I'm currently 45. That's on-track with my peers and recent trends at our firm. The key question is whether I want to drive myself that hard into my 60's. If the right challenges / opportunities come along that interest me, I could see myself lasting a little bit longer.
