I have spent the last 8 months of this year trying to start my career in the insurance industry, Applying in multiple towns/cities in England that are local to me, (London/Brighton etc) and have networked with multiple professionals and received brilliant career advice as well as assistance from some. However I have still found myself without job.

I am posting here to see if any other professionals may be able to give me some feedback as to what I am doing wrong.

Many thanks in advance.

The job market is brutal right now. I’m already in insurance and have been trying to find a new job at a different company for almost a year with no luck - and I’m someone who’s qualified and has experience. Don’t take it personally at all.

I would encourage you potentially look into obtaining a P&C license (although costly) or some sort of insurance certificate to help boost your marketability (AINS?). Look into trainee programs at underwriting shops. Reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn.

Excellent, I have been told by others to "hang in there" and admittedly it is difficult however it is the right thing to do. Thank you ever so much for your feedback, I will get straight to it.

As cheeky as this may sound I would be more than happy to connect on LinkedIn, that way you could even track my progress if you were interested.

Becoming a broker is something that I am very interested in doing so would be great to speak to you further about what your day-to-day looks like, what deadlines/quotas etc. If you would like to talk about your job I would be more than happy to listen.

Many thanks for your feedback once again.

I work remote as an insurance agent. I am currently hiring right now if interested

Our employee satisfaction survey is tied to our performance goals. Meaning, if we rate management badly, we cannot meet 10% of our goals which in turn affects our bonuses and raises. In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?
