Hi fishes,
I interviewed with Siemens Energy for SAP ABAP position on 21st Jan. The interview went on for about an hour and in the end, the interviewer asked my expected ctc and wanted assurance if I won't negotiate on Siemens offer with some other company as i am currently serving notice period and join Siemens if provided an offer.
Till now , the HR team has not reached out to me for salary discussions and my LWD is 7th Feb. Can i expect a call or i got rejected ?Siemens

Pro
If you think putting an application together is a potential waste, you’re not going to make it through the interview process…
That's definitely fair and very thoughtful of you (and a very Comms manager appropriate response lol).
Perhaps the best person to advice would be the recruiter you mentioned, they would have a direct view of what's going on in the office that you're applying to.
Definitely no harm reaching out to have a chat with them.
Rising Star
These pay lifts probably aren’t much better than inflation and these firms are competing with tech and finance for the top candidates. Their entire brand is around having the best so they will forever have to pay top market prices.
Job postings <> actual hiring
...and? So they need a comms manager.....How urgently do they need that though really? How many projects will that role be a thing? Most likely they will wait around for a unicorn candidate and pay well then, but don't think companies plan to actually fill all the roles they post.
Firms have that approach for a lot of roles, niche or not.
Our hiring is still in full speed. If the posting is there, we are looking for that role so there’s no harm in applying. We take a through-cycle approach to economic downturns to ensure we can develop our people to serve clients once demand picks back up again.
Pro
Especially for internal roles. I’d disagree if this was for a generalist consulting role
I’d recommend waiting until EOY / beginning of next year if in US. Most offices have indeed slowed down hiringn
Highly likely to see increased wave of layoffs across all industries at the end of the year / beginning of 23. We will for sure see freezes and in some case offer retractions.
