How does anyone keep time well for prayer and meditation while fully giving yourself to family and work in this economy?

One can imagine work here as meant in the maximum of work vs life here.

I know people who are constantly crashing and that’s without the set time for prayer. And despite hearts or gold, obvious piety and a high work ethic.

Can I leave my biglaw job 3 months before my COA clerkship? Not sure if it will look bad or like I have a gap in my resume. I’m going on 2 years at my firm and I can’t stand it. I’m burned out and the partners I work for told me not to take a vacation this year because of my upcoming clerkship. I have ALREADY billed 2,200 hours this year. I’m absolutely not coming back to this firm post-clerkship.

A first year asked me today how to maintain wlb to make the job work long term. Oh you sweet summer child.

I am curious how other inclusion teachers are being utilized when the school is doing remote learning. I find that I am sitting in the zoom class and have very little opportunity to contribute. I am having discussions with my teachers on ways that I can better support them and the students when remote.

What was the role and salary bump, how are annual bonuses/raises in industry, what is a typical work week (hours) like? I don’t think I can take this always on just to stay afloat life much longer. For context I am considered a high performer, am near the top of the salary band at my level and have a great supporting network at Deloitte. It’s just not worth it to have zero personal life.

Has anyone just taken a break from work without anything lined up? Every offer I’ve gotten wants me to start in a month and with 2 weeks notice that leaves me only 2 weeks to recharge. Hey guys I have offer from cisco system and checkpoint cyber security . Checkpoint is offering x+5 in base where as cisco is offering similar amount in joining bonus. Overall per year ctc is also differs by 3 lac (y+3) in checkpoint .

So considering recession and mass layoff which one will be right option to select in terms wlb, job security and future growth .

FYI : checkpoint is starting r&d division in India I will be first person to be hired for the same role.

It’s looking like my job is gonna start asking us to return to the office. We have an open office plan and before we wfh FT I would save all my work for my telework days bc I can’t get shit done in the office. I’m having major anxiety about them making this decision. I know I’m not alone that people don’t want to return to the office. My ADHD and the open office just makes working from the office a nightmare and I’m feeling really nervous and kind of resentful.

I received an offer for 80k to work as a desktop engineer for TCS at one of their client’s locations. When leaving as an audit manager, if you’re going to a competitor and they ask you to leave the day you give notice, do they always pay you out the 2 weeks or are you technically fired?

Currently live in NYC and I absolutely hate it as I love mountains and playing outdoors. I can either relocate now and have a stagnant but decent career that will allow me to enjoy my life.
