What are some best practices for handling an employee with dare I say, too much initiative? They tend to steamroll others and processes because they are so fast at their job and rather than taking a breather when done, start digging around for new projects outside of their scope. We value them but want to ensure others are given opportunity to thrive too.

I’m mid-level in my HR career at my current company and an upcoming Master’s graduate. Studying for my SHRM-CP too. How did you make the transition to that next level? Got an offer for $220k base, 20% bonus, $40k RSUs, and $25k sign-on in NYC and almost 7 YOE. I feel like I can’t do any better than this so do I even bother negotiating? If I did negotiate, where should I push for more?

Don’t know if it is in all big4, but are there any internationals who feel stuck in the company due to visas or green card process and feel that even if they are top performers they are paid less than Americans? (Even less than the people below us in total compensation) - this happened to me last year (top performer - on the top right of scatterplot) my senior below me was paid more … and this year (average) I saw a senior below me with a total compensation higher than mine.

If he gets residency in a city like Charlotte/Miami/Denver/Seattle, can junior employees work remote in a city that you don’t have an office? Or would I have to potentially leave the firm.
