You forgot the best part. After he yells to his kids about the black diamond cheese nachos they start running down and the house starts shaking. He then turns to his wife and says:
“It’s a stampede”
A work of art
Manager 1 - This is my pov. It is absolutely horrid and it’s offensive to anyone who is in the business of creative advertising. It’s doesn’t even try. Not with casting, concept, production.
And the agency just decided to take a paycheque and not say anything when the client makes a father say the words black diamond cheese when referring to cheese. Ppl don’t speak like this. The consumers feel the inauthenticity.
It’s gross on so many levels.
It’s not me being snobby. Its significantly worse than what ai can conceive and create. This type of creative is precisely what will end our profession. It’s dangerous and offensive to what we do.
You're entitled to your opinion, CD. Your post. Your opinion. I just don't see how it's worse than the other contrived schlock on TV these days. "J & PB!", "I'm the spokesguy", "I want to give my mom the moon".
I don't recall packaged goods cheese in Canada being in the 'barnburner creative opportunity' category. Maybe the media buy is just overdoing it for you? But if you think it's 'dangerous and offensive' to our industry, honestly, sincerely, I'll give that a think.
Now I think of this post everytime the commercial comes on the tv
Who was the agency?
re: comments
Apparently, all of you win a gold every time you produce something. Interesting.
It's got an idea. I bet kids like it.
This kind of 'not horrid/not award-winning' work fulfils a very big segment of an agency's output.
Yeah, it at least tried to be creative.
It could have been glory shots of cheese and a VO about how "at black diamond, we make cheese that makes families happy"
I'll never knock an agency or client for trying, even when they miss the mark a little.
