I keep only getting offered full-time work - any advice for how to convert these opportunities?

Given the current market the last 2 years get ready for fishies to pounce on you. 🤣

okay, i realize this may have come off as tone deaf. not my intention at all. i definitely make a large effort to pass off these opportunities to people who need it. i just, personally, am not interested in full time for my lifestyle.

Probably just say yes

LOL. What a humble brag. So many people are desperate for a FTE job and you're here talking about fighting them off like it's a bad thing.

Let me guess, you also got a smudge on your gold toilet and had to fill up your Rolls Royce by yourself because your butler is sick, right?

How about you share your “no-thank-you’s” with the team and we’ll share any freelance gigs with you?

Very very hard to convert. But possible!

Solid troll.

There’s not really a way to convert full time opportunities to freelance - if they’re offering you FTE roles it’s because a client scope was signed, rate is locked into a staffing plan & it needs to be filled. They save $ doing this vs paying a freelancer. If they didn’t need a full time person they’d be asking are you avail to freelance. As you likely know, the reverse is more common - a freelancer who gets converted to full time. Although not in this market as so many places have hiring freezes.

places are either looking FT or freelance. rarely, if ever, does the ol' "i cAn frEElaAnce wHIle you loOK to fIlL the FuLl tIMe pOSitiOn" offer land.

I’m a newly graduate from a community college. My program of study was Health Information Technician. I passed my RHIT exam a month ago, and I’ve been applying to jobs in state, out of state, and remotely to only receive “sorry you were not selected email.”I don’t have experience and I know that’s the reason I’m not getting selected. I’ve applied for receptionist, medical biller/coordinator, and medical clerk. Even with inflation willing to work for minimum wage or less just to gain experience.

I’m a second year associate at a small, but reputable firm. My caseload is almost entirely made up of clients who were referred to one of the partners but the partners are too busy so I end up taking the case. The clients are told up front that an associate, rather than a partner will be taking his/her case. I’ve run into an issue a couple of times where the client doubts my advice because I am only 2 years in. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I address the fact that I’m only 2 years in?

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

I’ve been a freelance print production designer for many years, and usually on-site in the before times. Now I work remote, and am finding it uneasy dealing with billing. Before I always billed hourly, which made sense, but it’s becoming an issue now. Some companies don’t have a full days’ work, so it seems wrong to bill full days, and it allows me to juggle projects for different companies, but my billable hours are down. I know I should bill a daily rate, but not sure that will fly. Thoughts?
