I kind of inherited a tenant instead of choosing my own, and I’m realizing our expectations around communication and upkeep are totally misaligned. For those of you who’ve been in this situation, did you try to “re-set” the relationship with a fresh lease and boundaries, or just wait out the tenancy and start over with your own tenant?

Describe the issues? Is the tenant paying market rent?

If you plan to keep the place long term, it’s worth resetting expectations in writing with a new lease. Otherwise, keep things polite and handle maintenance by the book until you can start fresh with your own tenant.

So this dude asked me late last night if I wanted to call him and said he needed someone to talk to while working late..told me to let him know if I had a guy over then he’ll talk to someone else. I didn’t have a guy over and not that kind of person so why assume that? It pisses me off.

Y’all I am struggling on these “light” home improvement projects we decided to take on with a recent house purchase. Plan was just to replace carpets, paint some walls, and replace kitchen appliances. Now added on new faucets, other bathroom hardware / mirrors / toilets / medicine cabinets / exhaust fans, baseboard recaulking and cleanup, kitchen sliding door, ceiling fan rewiring and install, window replacements… how do I rein it in?? So stressed out and we keep delaying move in. 🤯😱😭

I would like to learn more about development and real estate. Can anyone recommend any books or courses that you think are informative. Eventually I would like to own a few apartment buildings, but I know there is a lot I need to learn 1st. Any advice appreciated.
