I know it sounds silly, but I am a little nervous to be underdoing my principal's evaluation today! I am pretty experienced at this point, but I have a new principal, so I keep imagining worst-case scenarios. My old principal was very relaxed and his evaluations were very informal. But who knows, maybe it will end up being okay, and I will get some good feedback. Wish me luck!

I know how that is, I always get jitters before evaluations, no matter how long I've been doing them. Just take a deep breath, you're going to do great. Good luck!!

Hoping it went well! He didn't really give any immediate feedback so we'll see. Once I calmed down I think it was good.

Best of luck! Hoping it went well. Can always be a little unnerving when you are dealing with somebody new, regardless of how you feel about it. Hard to know what to expect when you are used to the same person and their style.

Thank you!! You get it! I think it went well... he didn't really say anything after so I'm just going to assume the best😊

I would say, give it time, give them a chance. Give them the chance to see who you really are.And what you really do you have to remember that the new principal is coming in blind.

My employer is 3-8. Kindergarten, through second is at a different building Up until this current year, we had been sharing the other principle . So a few days away, she was with the k through second and then other day she was with us third through fifth. The middle school has their own principle.
This year we had a new principal come in, she had never been a principle before. She had not worked with any of us, and she had not seen what we do on a daily basis.. Many of us felt that we had a target on our back for a long time. As the months have gone by, we have gotten to know each other and things are smoothing out.. She is getting to know each of us one by one ncia's as the educators that we are. So give your principle a little bit of grace. I'm sure you're doing just fine..

Is anyone in this group a K-2 VE teacher in Florida?

I feel like I'm at my wits end. I teach self-contained classes and according to the ISBE website my classes shouldn't be more than 8 students unless I have an aide - then it can be 10. I have no aide and most of my classes are around 14 kids. Some with behavior plans that are only out of our behavior room setting for my class... Is anybody else out there going through illegal class sizes for self-contained? How are you dealing? Maybe a vent session is in order.

Anyone else the last to be informed about ANYTHING at their site? I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!
