I know this isn't exclusive to tech, but I wasn't expecting the following response when I followed up on an application:

"Thank you for your continued interest in [redacted], at this time the role is on hold, however remains posted to continue to receive applicants."

I would love for recruiters and talent acquisition folks anywhere to stop complaining about how hard they have it, and how they are drowning in candidates when they pull this and other crap.

I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?

I informally accepted a position at Silicon Valley Bank, after attempting to negotiate a higher wage, the recruiter advised this wasn't a possibility. However, while completing the background check I received another offer from Wells Fargo. The SVB position most aligns with my career objectives but the Wells Fargo position pays more (13k difference). I want the SVB position however I would like to leverage the Wells Fargo position to negotiate a higher salary. Any suggestions on strategy?

Hello my mother is in Delhi and has Covid. Her fever hovers around between101 and 103. It’s the 7th day now (until 3 days ago, the fever was actually around 99-101). She has been on Paracetamol 650. Someone recommended MEFTAL 500. Does anyone here have family members who was put on this medication? Or any other alternate suggestions on how we can reduce the fever temperature? 🙏🏾

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. Considering a Product Owner role. Any best practices of what questions to ask during an interview? First phase deals with a virtual Teams interview with the recruiter and her manager on Tuesday. How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.
