I landed an interview for a local government paralegal position and was told it would just be a 15-minute “get to know you” phone call with the office manager and 1 attorney. When I answered, the office manager said there were actually 3 attorneys and herself on the line for a panel interview. Completely unexpected. I handled it really well but the office manager gave me an awful vibe. Even over the phone, something just felt off about her. No thanks! lol

Typical... they have been decaying in those positions for years. Revolving doors for anyone new.

Sometimes you have to go with your gut. It was definitely deceitful or maybe the attorneys insisted on showing up with the person. Regardless it would have been courtesy and common decency not to blind side some one. But I suppose, they are used to being blindsided themselves and have become immune to it and expect others to be too. It’s a hard field of work and we all have to be strong. Not “thickskinned or hardhearted, just strong mentally, spiritually, emotionally to survive in this field.

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? (Also I’m only 1.5yrs old in my career so I’m definitely still new, and I have previous experience as a project assistant).

Are there any fully remote lawfirms, ie you don't have to live in the state they have offices? I recently left a large lawfirm to go in-house which came with a huge paycut that is not going to be sustainable long term, but needed a remote position to be able to move. I'd like to keep my current job part-time but get back in a lawfirm too.
