I would look at some of the people I know/worked with that became Super Lawyers and wonder WTF? Now I know. LOL.

You mean to tell me you’re going to give up that easy on being a top 40 under 40 attorney?!?

funny

I tried to pitch them on my new AI powered legal advice platform that has $800M in seed capital, 14 users, and actually just reposts queries to /r/legaladvice on reddit and responds with the first post, but they told me that my business is too legitimate for 40 under 40

You’re still a Super Lawyer in my book.

So sorry to hear

Super Lawyers isn’t pay to play—it’s mildly legit

Essentially every award is by nomination so you could say “your friends appoint you” for every award. Anyone gets to nominate—it’s not restricted to firms that advertise; that’s just factually wrong, as made clear on the face of their website, unless you believe they are conducting a huge fraud.

Better luck next year!

I tried really hard this year, idk if I'm cut out for such an honor

This is not about dating, but about family relationships. I live far from my family and provably only see them once a year. They have been visiting for the past month and to go from not seeing them to seeing them so often has been an adjustment. I love them, but get so impatient with them and then I feel so guilty. Anyone else have this complicated dynamic with family?

At my uncles wedding in Madrid I remember lying down on the grass in the courtyard after their first dance and crying, my Dad came and saw me, laid down in his suit beside me and asked what was wrong.

“I know my boyfriend wouldn’t dance with me like that at our wedding”

And we just lay there as I cried, and then got up. Had a drink.

Said boyfriend left years ago, and now I have a wonderful man who just asked me what type of dance lessons I want for our wedding next year.

Don’t give up.

I am a new (lateral) associate at a small firm where everyone currently works from the office. When I started, I wasn’t told specific firm hours. I’ve tried to figure out when to come and go based upon when the partners arrive and leave, but their schedules are very inconsistent. The other associates don’t have helpful guidance for me. Assuming that if I ask the partners they’ll say to use my discretion, what are reasonable hours to keep?
