You already have 2 years big 4? Def come in as a senior and nothing less. PWC pay bands are a thing and I believe SA1s range from 90-100 depending on location.
You will struggle to perform as an SA with 3 years industry experience. Negotiate a higher salary at experienced assoc level.
You’re honestly in a grey area. At PwC from UG it’s 3 years as an Associate (sometimes two if you’re promoted early) to SA. You should push for SA. But from the recruiter’s perspective you have two years as an associate plus a year in industry which is an unknown quantity. Also consider that PwC just rolled out a mid year promotion process so if you come in as an Experienced Associate and perform well, you could likely position yourself as a strong candidate for mid year promotion. Note that there is no fixed time for Senior to Manger. 3 years is for highest performers + a group that needs managers. There are many many SAs that have been at that level for 4+ years l.
If you come into PwC as an EA and eventually get to Manager you will get a bigger Manager milestone bonus. That's something to keep in mind. 20% vs 10% when you start as an SA
And she wants to market me as an experienced associate rather than a senior associate. I’m currently making 80k base in industry. Does it make sense to make that lateral move for the experience ? Just curious of your thoughts. Thanks in advance !
That’s Year 2 out of UG at pwc if I’m not mistaken. Sounds about right. Industry experience is weighted less. I bet if you stuck it out in industry another year you could come in as a senior associate in the high 80s, low 90s
Two years of big 4 experience. 1 year in industry
Yes I have 2 in big 4 and 1 in industry. I figured I should go in as a senior. From what the recruiter told me is that there are three year gaps in between promotions. So 3 years to senior and 3 years to manager etc...
@PWC1, thanks for the insight.
I applied with 2.5 years exp. and they offered 85 base
@D1, what practice was this in ?
Public Service
PWC2, thanks! Care to share your experience at PWC so far ?
Been with the firm for 4 going on 5 years. Just got promoted Manager. I think the experience depends on which part of the firm you are a part of. Advisory is very different from Tax/Audit/Assurance. They can probably learn a lot from how we work. The folks I work with seem pretty happy, too, with the firm. It also depends on projects, clients, etc. I've had a pretty great experience so far.
