Nothing wrong with an accent. Just keep practicing and it will get better.
Never say never! English is my second language as well, but over the years, I just fully immersed myself with English speakers, started reading only in English (novels and news). Now, I pass as a native English speaker :)
Me too.
People recommend toast masters or freemasons to boost the language skills.
If you have ever heard Sundar Picchai and the way he says "where" or other words that should tell you that as an immigrant, you don't need to fear. Over the years I have focused on not speaking in a monotone as one of my early bosses gave me the feedback that he zones out when I speak in a monotone and that has been my focus.
Try to talk a lot to native speakers during regular hours and you will soon pickup. For some it may take longer than hours but nothing to worry about it. I tried Toastmasters but it never worked for me as it only helped me with extempore speeches.
There is no one size fits all and you may have to try different things before realizing what works for you. Reducing monotone when I speak helped me a lot

Yeah , Sundar is Indian with a British accent. He’s brilliant. I feel that , if you are the ceo of Google , nobody will focus on your accent and more on the content of your speech.
Had the same issue when I was learning the language. I watched documentaries, tv shows, movies and I basically said out loud every single word said on everything I saw. It helped a lot and my communication skills are great as of today. Hopefully this helps you too!!
Don’t give up, it’s hard but you’ll eventually get there.
Best of luck!

Watch a lot of English serials and copy them. You'll eventually get there.

Same here. I feel your pain.
Have you considered taking formal language classes? You can definitely improve. I'm very dyslexic and have struggled for years reading, writing, and even getting my words organized when I speak. I got help from professionals and made sure to practice daily to improve. I have to reread my emails 10 times still, but better then doing it 100 and catch more things easier with time. Something that helped me a lot was reading lots of news articles. I don't mean garbage news, but actually things like the economist, etc.
Toastmasters isn't the type of training you need. I was a toastmaster and even built a club at my company 10 years ago. It helped me with my extemporaneous quick thinking speech skills. It's not going to help you with formalized grammar and structure.
I did private language tutoring. You should consider this or group English lessons. Don't be afraid to start in a lower class. I find that I'm still learning a lot about grammar and with my dyslexia I need to refresh stuff fairly often. You even get better at self-studying. Start with a professional program and then go from there. I'm not kidding when I say this. I have forgotten in the past how to spell "a". If I can do it, anyone can.
I would suggest reading and watching shows . I don’t think your English is necessarily “ problematic “ . It’s like when we grow up in a different country we use the language differently, different shows , books , cartoons . So sometimes you know what to say and the audience is wrong. I am sure there are resources to help with better communication. That being said , I have seen some very successful people whose second language is English and they made it and so will you. And the world is a melting pot , a company has people from different countries. And they still thrive. And you will too 😊. Remember there are lots of people with great knowledge of the language but they are too shy to speak . Also listen to Ted talks . It’s a matter of confidence .

Thanks for the kindness ! I didn’t think about Ted talk. Will definitely try that.
Grammarly is a good computer add-in that reviews writing English. Speaking, comes with time. But remember — dialects are a thing - so as long as it’s not completely unintelligible, probably not as big of a deal that you think.

More than the accent I think is the writing skills and also the lack of vocabulary in English. I have a very rich vocabulary in my native language but that doesn’t translate to English. I have used grammarly in the past and I liked it. Going to download it again. Thanks!
