I talked to a few recruiters about how I want to leave for a financial analyst position and all of them tell me that it’s not likely and that it’s a two step process to get there. They have said I should go with senior accounting roles and then transition after... however that doesn’t seem very convincing to me and I would rather make the move now while I’m still early in my career (first year audit senior). Would appreciate any experiences or advice 😁

Sounds like they’re trying to make a quick bucks off you. Just apply to jobs directly

The recruiters would prefer to place you easily now and place you again in 1-2 years. Don't listen to those recruiters. Either find one willing to help you reach your goals or apply direct...or both.

Don't listen to recruiters. I left as a first year senior to be an FP&A senior. All while recruiters said going into FP&A at all was too difficult. Good luck and keep at it.

Received a verbal job offer on Tues. $5k short of what I had said was my desired range but still up from my current salary. We set up a call for Thurs to discuss further. On Wed they sent me all benefits info. Thursday on the call I asked if we could either increase moving stipend or get closer to my desired salary. They said no, and I asked them to send over written offer and I would let them know by Fri. They then email they are no longer offering me the position and repost it the next day:

Hey Friends! Looking for advice!

My wife is a Chartered Accountant with 7+ years of experience as credit manager, underwriting loans with some leading banks in India. She just got her EAD and is looking for jobs, open to switch profiles as well. Do you think she would fit in for any role here in Seattle, WA? She has been a star performer and promoted twice in the last 3 years. One problem is companies look for US experience which she does not have, we just moved here early this year.

Hell Sharks,

Since we all are working in SAP, can we all share our CTC, YOE and sap module so that we all will have idea of current market trend.
