I was an in-house senior consultant for a big fintech company (26000+ employees), with a PhD in finance. I’ve been looking for opportunities after this consulting role. The company was a market leader in building smart banks, ATM equipments and softwares. I considered the following paths, and I’m wondering which would make more sense in this market rn:
1. Strategy roles in tech companies
2. Product manager
3. PE/VC
4. Data analytics manager (did quantitative research for over 7 years)

Can anyone help me wrap my head around this post Series C start-up equity offer? It’s an IP director position, the the base is $170 with 10% bonus (both lower than I was expecting). There’s also an equity component: 0.15% of current fully diluted equity. This equates to about 30000 shares at a strike price of $2. They also indicate the preferred stock price is $6 and preferred stock equity is $188k (whatever that means). They are in the middle of a new financing and valuation round.

Mother and sister are getting cabin fever. Father is being a bit irrational. I'm just going with whatever keeps them calm so I can retreat back to my room and be an introvert in peace. Anyone else?

So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
