I was brutally honest in my exit interview. I gave clear examples of toxic leadership, gaslighting, poor communication, and suggestions for improving team morale. Stuff people had whispered about for months. The HR rep smiled, took notes, thanked me for my transparency and then I found out the manager I called out got promoted two weeks later. It made me feel like I wasted my breath. Has anyone actually seen an exit interview lead to real change? Or is it just a checkbox for companies to pretend they care?

So I work for a small company as a SEM/Director… which in my world just means I am really Lead Developer, Part BA and part product owner as well as reviewing the devs. I came up in this company starting at about SE3 of 5 so the position is just kind of what I made it. I have recently been getting interest from some larger companies like Amazon. Long preamble to ask, what are the day to day responsibilities/expectations of an SEM at a FAANG?
