You are subject to both UK and US taxes at the same time. Enjoy.

Throughout the year you pay the same tax as a UK resident. At the end of the year you work out how much you would have paid in the US and submit a tax return to the fed. If the tax would have been higher in the US, you owe them the difference.

In practice this is just an administrative headache and you won't have to pay anything to the fed in most years. The most material difference is that primary residences are expert from capital gains tax here, so you may end up owing money if you sell a house.

I hired a start up tech company for the company I currently work for and have for the past 10 years. I love my current company but the money and rate of growth I need isn’t there anymore. A lot of folks, this bowl included, are getting a reality check at the moment, which i think is good for learning experiences. Would love everyone’s thoughts! Which of these two options would you pick if your goal is to buy and hold for appreciation purposes given these are in a very hot market. Both same lot size.

Option 1:
- $175k lot located on very busy street but across the street from new $700k townhomes and restaurants

Option 2:

I have 1.5years of experience in Angular and recently i started looking for job opportunities. I was hoping that it will take 2-3 months at least to find a job opportunity and then when i serve 90 days notice period then I'll have around 2years of experience. But i got an offer letter in the first company i interviewed at and they are offering 80% hike.
I think i still have many things to learn and i can do it in my current company. Now should i accept that offer letter or reject

Would you ever accept a ground-floor bedroom facing the street (but set back from the pavement) in London? Residential, upscale zone 2 neighbourhood (think Victoria Park Village, East Dulwich, Fulham), but like everywhere in London, there are some rougher bits nearby. I sleep with the window open for fresh air, so I’m concerned about burglary and assault (I’m a woman). There’s the option of using an internal bedroom instead, but it’s not nearly as nice as the street-facing one.
