I was in a customer help-desk position at a college for 1.5 years but got laid off cause they wanted to dissolve that position entirely to save money. They never officially hired me, I was a temp. It's been 8 months since then and I guess things have gone to crap- they want to hire me back, but I'm in a new role (temp to hire). I make more now, but if I were officially hired as staff at the college I'd have great benefits and long term stability. Do I go back?

Absolutely not. They already played their hand as seeing you as expendable when they laid you off. Even if the benefits were good, it's not a stable situation as they already got rid of your position once and they are, in your words, just coming out of or are in dire straits.

Second this. Keep that company in your rearview mirror. The next time they have layoffs, you'll be a target again due to lack of seniority. It's happened to me!

Did anyone else adopt the new Florida Wonders curriculum? We just adopted it this school year, and I teach 4th grade. My team and I have not found a good flow, schedule, or whatever you want to call it. We feel like it teaches too many skills in one lesson, and we are not able to truly teach anything “deep” enough for students to master. Does anyone have any insight? What do you do? Do you like the curriculum? Why or why not? Would you be willing to share what you do weekly/daily? Thanks!

Hi all, lofty question but here goes!
I’ve been thinking about the prospect of switching industries - from creative agency to something else, ideally w/ better compensation but for some reason have felt stuck re: knowing my options & where my skills would translate. I know the typical account skillset should translate to many jobs out there and maybe the vastness is what’s making me freeze? Has anyone transitioned to a different industry/company or does anyone have good starting suggestions?
