Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. I’m coming in as Staff/Lead, and want to eventually move into management in 1-4 years. If I spend some of my first two week block updating and creating documentation for future devs, will that be seen as working hard or wasting time? It feels like a good use of my time to me….

What holiday party did you get?
Anyone living close to an office, got a holiday party with food and drinks, and the venue started open for them until around midnight. Our remote workers got a one hour party w a DJ and trivia that let you win gift cards. Yeah it was nice to win a gift card but I found it lame in comparison to hanging out with my team in real life.
