I was supposed to have a BCG interview today, but then I got an email that they decided to move forward with another candidate, but then the interviewer still called me and thought the rejection might have been an error, and then proceeded to interview me anyways. Interview went fine. Do you think I'm still in the game, or has there just been an extra layer of miscommunication here?

What will the project dynamics be on a project staffed with 3mdps, a PL, and myself, a summer UG intern? Just got staffed and will be hearing more on Monday from the team, but it came across as an interesting staffing composition.
Have the feeling I'll be making quite a few slides as the only junior. Anyone staffed on a similar case composition?

I’ve never heard of the “moving forward with another candidate” before in my life here at BCG. Maybe the recruiting intern was confused

We could be if it’s for BST
It seems like scheduling error than a rejection. It's rare they invite you for interview and reject you before you actually interview
This is very rare indeed.
Probably a mistake, never heard of this
I would say mistake for sure. If you get another rejection email it’s over, but they would never reject you before the actual interview.
