Hi Guys, I am 5.5 years Java Developer and I have offer from JPMorgan Chase and Walmart .
Jpmc: 50% on current fixed + jpmc benefits Walmrat: 50% on current fixed + yearly bonus + stocks.
Please help me choose which will be better, mainly looking for brand value, work life balance and yearly hikes.
I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

Got offer from JPMorgan Chase , but variable pay percent was not mentioned in it. HR told it will be around 10-12% . Is it true? It's for VP/602/Commercial Banking? How much we variable pay will get annually? Can someone help as based on this only in have to decide whether, I can go with counter offer or not?
I really think that the insurance policy given by mediassist is way more expensive for parental insurance, means who will pay for 50k+ premium and that too for large copay, I guess the leadership team should intervene here....Parental insurance is really important for any employee and most of the time is only needed.
Recently I used parental insurance and found that the insurance company only paid for 50% of the total bill.

Contd here: I'm experiencing a lot of anxiety about moving to a new country, starting anew, and starting my job again. I am on anti-anxiety medication.
Has anyone faced similar issues? How did you overcome your anxiety?
Please provide your suggestions. Please be kind and considerate in your comments
Apologies if this is not a confession

You should take this lightly and make the transition as smooth as possible..and your happiness should not be tied to a place or person as it will always lead to disappointment..
Try to think about what you can do from your end at the moment and evaluate if you have to invest your time worrying about the ones in which you cannot do much, clearing all your liabilities should be your first task before anything.
DM’ed you
Been there, done that!
Hang in there, i would recommend dont move back until you get your canadian passport. It is only 3-4 years.
Won my h1b lottery than hr forgot to submit my paperwork on timely manner. Ended up with no status or income, looking back i regret i did not even enjoy a day of summer and have fun, instead locked myself in getting ready for anything. Started applying for jobs in canada, gemany, switzerland, uk, spain, australia, just in case they decided to f with me.
My recommendation is whatever you do, try to enjoy it and create a lifetime experience and story out of it. Its not how and where you start, its how and where you end!

Hello SM1!
Your story is like nostalgia for me. I was previously working with one of the 'WITCH' companies. My H1 was picked in the 2nd lottery of 2020. However, my company didn't submit the petition because of wage laws. I started applying and interviewing from November 2020 and finally got a job with one of the big 4 firms in April 2021. I was not selected in H1 lottery during 2nd and 3rd year of OPT.
I found a team working in the same domain in Canada and took an internal transfer after clearing the interview. I should follow the same process to return on L1.
I was always tensed and never travelled much in USA.
Canada is not an extremely different country (don’t be sensitive Canadian 🐟).
