I work for a small company and we all wear multiple hats. And I’m very new in a management position It’s getting to a point that I’m wearing more hats than agreed upon in the hiring process. How should one go about asking for possibly more compensation or something to help distribute some of this work load?

My raise % has historically been good. Company entered into a big lucrative deal in 2021 which brought on more work and with it, promises of more lucrative prospects for everyone.

Come performance review time, I’m getting a rave review but was informed that the increase isn’t as big as prior years because HR is limiting the raises and not giving the department as much discretion as it did in the past with nos.

I am a senior accountant with a masters and CPA credential and 3 years experience. A colleague was just promoted to senior with no credentials and 10k higher salary. My boss said he can match salary in 3 months when we have our annual review cycle. I don’t think I should have to wait. Also I said I should absolutely be paid higher than peer given my credentials.
